AWANA @ NorthWoods Church
Fall Semester Starts Wednesday, August 29, 2018
Awana is a discipleship and Bible-memorization ministry during the school year. The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and train them to serve him. The weekly program is designed to give boys and girls the opportunity to build lasting friendships, establish positive role models, and provide practical life lessons in a safe and fun Christian environment.
Our Awana Clubs:
Puggles, ages 2- younger 3’s
Cubbies, ages older 3’s – 5’s (not in Kindergarten)
Sparks, Kindergarten – 2nd grade
Truth and Training (T & T), 3rd – 5th grade
We recommend that children whose birthdate is January 1, 2015 – August 1, 2016 participate in Puggles. For children whose birthdate is between August 1, 2014 – December 31, 2014, parents have discretion to place students in either Puggles or Cubbies. Children whose birthdate is older than August 1, 2014 (and have not entered Kindergarten) should participate in Cubbies. Our church staff and volunteer leaders can help you decide the most age appropriate group for your children.
Wednesday evening meetings typically consist of three parts:
- Game Time gives children the chance to play fun games while learning teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
- Handbook Time provides children with the opportunity to develop relationships in a small group while reinforcing the Scripture memory work that they have done at home.
- Large Group Time is a session designed to offer children practical lessons in Christian living.
Dues for participation in our AWANA Clubs are $0.50 / meeting or $8 / semester. In addition, each group may have fees for uniforms and workbooks.
