Church planting has been a part of the DNA of NorthWoods since the beginning. Our church began as a church plant from Grace Baptist Church in Evansville in November 2002. Since that time, we have planted 10 churches in Indiana and have been a partner church to dozens of other plants around the world.

Church Planting Internship
Church Planting Internship
In 2022, NorthWoods developed a Church Planting Internship program for the purpose of identifying, developing, and sending out church planters. Students who are enrolled in a Southern Baptist Convention Seminary get discounted tuition, a generous stipend, and housing provided for each of the interns and their families. My time in the Church Planting Internship at NorthWoods was invaluable for my work as a Pastor today. It gave me real hands-on experience. There were opportunities to teach, preach, and evangelize, but even more valuable than that was the focused training that showed how it all works together to grow a healthy new church. This internship is a must for anyone with a heart to see the gospel advanced through church planting.

NorthWoods Church partners with Send Network of the North American Mission Board to plant churches in Indiana and across North America. We also partner with the International Mission Board and other agencies to plant church internationally.
